Superhot is finally out this week, giving classic first-person shooter gameplay a time-bending twist. The team behind the game is working on another way to play: virtual reality.
I had the chance to play Superhot in VR when it was demoed by Oculus at E3 2014. In short, it was the closest thing I’ve experienced to Neo’s bullet-bending move in The Matrix. It was also the demo that cemented my interest in virtual reality.
While the Superhot team isn’t being terribly chatty yet about when we’ll see the VR version, it’s great to know it’s coming.
“Also in the meantime we are constantly working on the XBox One version of SUPERHOT and doing secretive work on a bunch of grand VR plans,” the team wrote on Kickstarter. “We can’t tell you too much but SUPERHOT in VR is going to be fun, oooh so much fun… :)”
Superhot is available now on PC.

I’m thrilled that the demo I played over a year ago will be fully fleshed out. Playing Superhot in VR is a fantastic experience and one I’d recommend to anyone interested in the technology.
