BioWare has confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda has been delayed until 2017. In an announcement, the developer said that the game will be delayed in order to create a bigger game with “an unprecedented level of freedom.”
Mass Effect Andromeda was officially revealed at E3 last year and was supposed to be released this year. The delay is quite significant, as EA says it will now be released in “Early 2017”, which is a 6 month delay.
The game will be powered by the Frostbite engine, which gave us the gorgeous Star Wars Battlefront, so there’s definitely a lot to expect visually.
As BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn puts it, their goal is to create “visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history.”
