Alleged gameplay footage from Bioware’s upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda has leaked online, displaying a cool, new (and potentially fake) jetpack feature.
The video is from a Bioware developer’s demo reel. The validity of the YouTube video cannot be confirmed, especially considering it leaked online yesterday on April Fools. Remember that this is not necessarily representative of how Andromeda will look or play. Take a look below to judge for yourself.
Mass Effect Andromeda was originally supposed to release this year during holiday season, but has been pushed to 2017. You can view the E3 2015 trailer here. Key members from the Mass Effect team have also left Bioware for new endeavors, including the lead writer and senior development director.
It’s difficult to pinpoint whether this footage is authentic or not, but the jetpack feature is definitely something we haven’t seen before. The fact that this appeared online on April 1 doesn’t help matters. Plus, if the footage is real, there’s no way to know if it will appear in the finished product when Andromeda releases. All I can say for certain is that I’m all for taking a spin with a jetpack.
