Sony makes up for PSN outage with compensation
Sony said that it would be offering PlayStation Plus extensions in the wake of the recent PlayStation Network outage, and it’s come good – in Europe at least. We just received an email from the manufacturer promising us an extra 24 hours of service. In order to unlock it, you’ll need to redeem a code on the PlayStation Store which will expire on 31st March.
You’ll only receive the email if you had an active PlayStation Plus membership on 4th January, so if your sub recently ran out, then you won’t be eligible for this compensation. Considering that the service was only down for 10 hours at most, this is a nice little gesture – but, of course, it would be better for everyone if the servers hadn’t crumbled in the first place.
